Leg Length Discrepancy (LLD)

is common as most of us are less than perfectly symmetrical. However, when the length difference exceeds ½ inch, problems can arise. There are two different types of LLDs; 'Structural LLDs' involve and actual difference in the measured length of the femur (thigh) or tibia (shin) bones from one side to the other. 'Functional LLDs' usually involve soft tissue (like muscle or ligament) contractures, which can give the appearance of a LLD.
