  1. Who do I call when we run out of Sportmed/Paris Orthotics
    prescription pads?

  2. What information should be written on the prescription?
    Please include relevant details such as symptoms or diagnosis. If you
    have any specific requests or recommendations please indicate as well.

    Important note: In order for a patient to be covered under extended
    medical the prescription must include a proper medical diagnosis and
    the Health Care Professional’s name and signature.
  3. Does Sportmed/Paris Orthotics do 3rd party direct billing?
    Yes, for the following organizations:
    • Workers Compensation Board
    • ICBC
    • Non-Insured Health Benefits for Status Indians
    • Department of Veterans Affairs
    • Department of National Defense
    • RCMP

    Please contact one of our stores directly to find out each organization’s
    specific requirements. We do not direct bill to individual medical plans.
  4. When does a patient have to book an appointment?
    When can he/she just walk in?

    - We require an appointment for custom foot orthotics, pedorthic
    assessments and shoe modifications. Custom knee bracing also
    requires an appointment.
    - We do not require an appointment for bracing products (other than
    custom knee bracing), lower leg walkers, cold-therapy products, rehab and exercise products and over the counter foot Orthotics.

    Please note: If you are unsure, you or the patient may call one of our
    stores and we would be happy to provide an answer that is specific to
    his/her individual needs.
  5. How long does it take to get Orthotics?
    Two weeks from the initial patient assessment & casting. Once the
    Orthotics are complete the patient will require a short appointment in
    order to receive them and insure that they fit properly.
