Prescription OA Knee Brace FAQ's

Do I need a referral/prescription?
Yes, we need to know whether we are offloading the medial or lateral compartment of the knee. This diagnosis has to be determined by a Health Care Practitioner (HCP). We can fit for the brace (which model) without the referral but we cannot order or put your into the brace until we have one.

What is the cost of a brace?
An off-the-shelf(OTS) brace can cost from $650 to $950. Custom braces can range from $1250 to $1350.

How long will it take for the brace to come in?
Usually 5 to 10 business days. OTS braces can take longer if the specific size is on backorder. Also, shipping from some suppliers can save a day or two (eg. West coast vs. East coast, Canada vs. US).

What is the trial program?
The trial program allows you to trial an OTS OA brace for 2 weeks. This is done to give an idea of how much symptom relief an OA brace can provide. The trial program also allows the user to experience what it feels like to wear a knee brace for an extended period of time.

What is the cost of the trial program?
The final cost of the trial program is $75. This comes with a knee sleeve to be worn during the trial period, this is done for hygienic reasons. At the beginning of the trial period you have to pay the full cost of the brace since you are taking the brace out of the store. When the brace is returned that full cost of the brace will be refunded. The $75 though is non-refundable as that is the cost of participating in the trial program.
